4. Can stucco be used to form a 'roof'?
Never! Not even a small roof, like a molding or a bump out relief on stucco. Even though it is inclined it will still absorb water at an unacceptable rate…this water will penetrate the stucco and sit on top of the tarpaper in a way similar to the inverted cup test….now you begin to measure the length of time the wood will stay dry in minutes or hours…not in years.
